The Daniel E. Stuntz Memorial Foundation was established in 1984 and the Stuntz Mycology Fund in 2017, to honor the memory of Dr. Daniel E. Stuntz, beloved professor of Botany and Mycology at the University of Washington.

The Mission of the Daniel E. Stuntz Foundation and the Stuntz Mycology Fund is to advance mycological research and education and appreciation for fungi in the Pacific Northwest.

Vision
Our vision is one where all people become aware and appreciative of the roles fungi play in ecosystems and our lives; that learning about fungi will occur at all levels of education, and laboratory, herbaria, and field research will be valued and well funded.

Values
To honor the legacy of Dr. Daniel E. Stuntz
Assist students to conduct scientifically sound research
Provide students, teachers and researchers with funding to perform their work
Treat all applicants for funding with respect.
